A teacher for Christmas!

Thank you everyone who came to the RAJA Christmas shopping evening in benefit of School by School!

And a massive thank you to RAJA for sponsoring a contracted teacher for a full year! The schools in Deogarh, Rajasthan, are in desperate need for extra staff as the heavy workload is effecting the quality of education. Many schools are also in need of female teachers as there are none in many cases. Having a woman on the staff will help in many situations where young girls need a woman to confide in as well as the need of role models.

We are now on our way to India! First stop is Deogarh to visit the schools, very exciting! Lots of planning about the future. And then Delhi to discuss a new project that we think might be a great new challenge. And of course – Diwali celebrations!

School friends in Sweden

This autumn we’re getting involved with primary schools here in Sweden. There’s so much inspiration and creativity in our schools at home so it’s with great anticipation we are starting up these projects and introducing them to our schools in India. More info will follow soon!
We also think it’s great that in the Swedish ‘Läroplan’ (official education plan) these points are now included:
- We will be developing the children’s ability to show consideration for and their will to help others.
- We will be encouraging the children’s global awareness.

We can’t but agree that this is of vital importance to all children!

New benches finally here!

Last week the schools Ghodatalai and Verawas finally got their new benches! Now we’re onto the next project – getting the teachers more learning & study material.
