Golfing for children and education

We want to say a big THANK YOU to the staff at Sturup Park Golf as well as to everyone who came to play and on September 1st. During the day golfers of Sturup Park managed to raise an amazing amount that will on its own be enough to support a whole CLASSROOM of children for a whole YEAR in India.

We hope the day at Sturup Park Golf inspired golfers to visit India and got them interested in School by School and the work we do.

So again, thank you Sturup Park Golf for another great event in support of School by School!

ps. for those of you who weren’t there but want to find out more about playing golf in India visit Out Of The Box Travel.

Update from Banérporten India themed week

We’ve had an update from the Stockholm school Banérporten on their India themed week. It was a great success and the students and teachers very much enjoyed it! One young student apparently even told his father that it was ‘the most fun he has ever had in school’. Can’t get any better than that can it? We are thrilled and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Banérporten!

The activities during the week included: Indian dance, facts about India, music and film from classic citar to Bollywood, religion, art, Indian children’s games and food.

It’s great to hear that the children enjoyed learning about this far away country that is so different to Sweden but a very important part in our ever growing international world.

Banérporten have chosen to get involved in our Nand Nagri-project in East Delhi, and during their India week the teachers, students and parents at Banérporten amazingly raised funds of 11,000SEK for this project! The funds will support 22 students in East Delhi for a whole year. THANK YOU to everyone involved and we look forward to continuing this work.

Banérporten to host India themed week

We are very excited to be involved with Banérporten School in Stockholm who have decided to host a India themed week in aid of School by School. It starts on Monday and will include lots of different activities with the aim to raise knowledge about India as well as funds to support School by School’s project in Nand Nagri, East Delhi.

We will be there on Monday the 23rd to answer questions and talk more about our work in India. It’s very encouraging to see the interest in India out there among the Swedish schools. And we want to thank Banérporten for taking this initiative! I’m sure their students will fall a little bit in love with India as well.
